This pattern makes a low spoon straw bonnet dating from 1859-1862.  It comes with detailed directions, pattern and photos with historical notes about the straw bonnet and hat industry in America at that time. It requires in roll (18yds of 1/2" hemp braiding) or (36 yds of 1/4" rice braiding).  Hemp is HIGHLY recommended for the beginner bonnet maker.  It is available in four different sizes based on your vertical circumference measurement.  Place a measuring tape at the top back center of your head where your part ends. Then bring the tape down under your chin and back up to the center back of your head. The sizes are XS = 23", S = 24", M = 25", L = 26". If you need a size that is not listed, You can have one custom made for $5 extra. For this you will select "Special Order" and in the "comments" section of your order let me know what your vertical circumference measurement is. This pattern was developed from an original from Pamela Yockey's private collection. All pattern sales are final, no returns, refunds or exchanges.
